What a really fun way to teach yourself Spanish. Why not watch the World Cup game between Germany and Spain. But instead of listening to the ESPN broadcast, listen to the game in Spanish!
Seriously what a cool way to learn some conversational Spanish. We really think that when you decide to teach yourself Spanish that a big reason for those who succeed and those who don’t is the fun factor.
So turn on the TV but leave the volume off. Then tune into the game on Spanish radio and have fun listening along and hearing and discerning the words that you know. If you have a DVR then even better. When you hear words in the Spanish language that you don’t understand, then rewind and listen again.
You’ll be amazed how much fun it is. So while the sounds of the wailing vuvuzela’s are sounding, you’ll be listening to the Spanish announcers call the match.
Don’t just listen to the game. Listen and watch the commercials as well. Go for total immersion all day. Order some Spanish food and try to order in Spanish as well.
You may think that I’m out of my mind but this is how it would be if you stepped off of a plane in Madrid so give it a shot and do your best!
So while you’re enjoying the match, and while you’re rotting for Spain, take the opportunity to teach yourself Spanish. You’ll have a blast!
